Course description:
Standard First Aid and CPR builds on the essentials, giving you a deeper, more comprehensive foundation in emergency response. Whether you attend in person over two days or complete the theory online and join a single in-person practical day, this course prepares you to handle a wider range of emergencies with confidence.

Built to Canadian first aid and CPR standards, the course combines classroom theory with hands-on practical training, covering emergency scene assessment, CPR and AED use, choking response, bleeding control, shock management, burns and environmental emergencies, spinal injury management, wound care and bandaging, and how to recognize and respond to common medical emergencies.

Learning outcomes:

• Assess an emergency scene safely and apply infection prevention and control practices
• Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, and use an AED safely
• Respond to choking emergencies in adults, children, and infants
• Control severe bleeding, manage shock, and treat burns and environmental emergencies
• Recognize and respond to common medical emergencies, including heart attack, stroke, diabetes, seizures, anaphylaxis, and asthma
• Manage spinal injuries and perform wound care and bandaging
• Activate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) effectively and place a casualty in the recovery position

You will also receive an official First Aid Certificate.
